How we select these builds: After analyzing over ten million gaming hours (and counting!), our recommendation engines have helped assess FPS metrics of the games you love with the components you choose. All FPS data is aggregated by CAM and all systems are available for purchase at BLD.

Welcome to another NZXT Gaming PC build guide!

Today, we’ll be taking a look at 3 different builds for the popular, free-to-play battle royale game Fortnite! Fortnite has exploded in popularity due to its F2P nature, great performance optimizations, and a unique building mechanic that lets players build cover and towering forts on the fly. Best of all, this game doesn’t take itself too seriously, allowing for wacky in-game items like the Boogie Bomb that sends any affected players into an uncontrollable dance fever while being unable to shoot back!

We’re going to cover 3 different system configurations in today’s guide, each of which can be found by selecting one of the different budget options presented to you on our BLD website. Simply select “Fortnite” as the desired game title and you’ll soon be on your way.

Whether you’re on a budget, or you’re chasing the best possible frame rate on Epic graphical settings, you’ll find the right BLD system below!

BLD System #1: $1000

CASE: NZXT S340 Elite
MOTHERBOARD: GIGABYTE GA-B250M-DS3H
CPU: Intel i5-7500

Let’s start out with a more budget-friendly, well-performing rig! This particular configuration comes extremely close to that coveted 60 FPS mark (predicted 51 FPS) using all Epic graphical settings in Fortnite, and it’s perfect for someone operating on a budget. On the motherboard, you’ll find an i5-7500 CPU, GTX 1050Ti GPU, and 8GB of RAM. An efficient CRYORIG H7 air cooler is there to keep your processor running cool, and a 1TB HDD ensures that you will have tons of storage space for all your game files. This build is great for Fortnite players on a budget.

If you are looking for even more power and frames per second, check out BLD System 2 listed below.

Got a bit more coin to spare? This system configuration kicks things up a notch with a well-rounded GTX 1070Ti graphics card and an AMD Ryzen 5 1600. Delivering a 73% frame rate increase, this combo reaches a predicted 110 FPS on Fortnite’s Epic graphical settings, making sure you’ll never miss a beat while building a clutch wall to stay alive or floss dancing after destroying an opponent. 16GB of RAM and a 1TB HDD keep things running smooth, though adding an optional SSD will definitely speed things up a bit.
